The Lana‘i Library’s Summer Reading Programs

Summer is here and kids are out of school. Keep their brains going and their imaginations flowing! Lana‘i Public and School Library is holding their FREE summer reading program “Dream Big Read!” for your kids. Entice them with campfire stories, nocturnal animals and even star gazing! Infants to students entering sixth grade can register starting May 29th! The program runs from May 29th -July 7th. Get them reading and they could win weekly prizes!

Tell your teens to “Own the Night”. Libraries across the state are encouraging teens to discover the night time world. Explore astronomy, mysteries, dreams, suspense, campfire stories, and stargazing! Registration starts May 29th for those entering 7th grade through 2012 graduates. The program continues from May 29th to July 7th. Teens may even enter for a chance at an e-Reader or iPad Touch.

Moms, Dads and even Tūtūs can win weekly prizes too! While the keiki get their books make sure that you pick yours! Share the joy of reading with children. Pick up a western, adventure, sci-fi, mystery or even romance. Patrons 18+ may register for “Between the Covers” (starting May 29th)and earn points for weekly prizes themselves. With or without kids! Don’t miss out, the programs all end on July 7th!

There will even be two special performances! Stop by Lana‘i Public and School Library June 7th at 2:00 pm for story time with Deamers and Schemers, and visit again on June 20th for stories from around the world, told by Dave Del Rocco. All ages are welcome! Get out and go and pick up books for the summer!
